Georgios Kapogiannis

Georgios is an ICT Business Analyst with experience both in the United Kingdom and Greece. He received his B.B.I.S. (Hons) in Applied Informatics in Management and Finance from the Messolonghi Institute of Technology in Greece and a Certificate in Mobile Business from the Athens University of Business and Economics, Greece. He has been granted a number of Scholarships, notably, by the State Foundation Institute (Greece) for studies in Finland at the University of Jyväskylä, and from the University at Albany (State New York University – Centre for Technology in Government). He is currently undertaking a PhD in the area of Collaborative Environments and how these can assist project managers in the Construction Industry to enable the proactive behaviour.
Georgios has professional experience in the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs between 2004 and 2007 as a Financial Expert and Consultant (Project Funded by the EU, budget 7, 5 M Euro). In the meantime, he has been as a member of the Board of Directors in the Finnish Hellenic Chamber of Commerce from 2005 to 2009.
He joined the University of Salford in 2007 and is a member of the School of the Build Environment where he is actively involved as an adjust Lecturer and Research Assistant. During the first semester of the current academic year (2009/10) he taught the modules of ‘People Management in the Build Environment’ and ‘Project Management in the Build Environment’ for postgraduate students. This semester (February 2010) he is teaching the module of ‘Process and Project Systems’ postgraduate students. Georgios is also currently involved in the following research projects: CoSpaces and SME - ABC (WebPortal for Construction SMEs).
Georgios has articles included in the proceedings of several International Conferences and is acting as a peer reviewer for prestigious European Journal such as the European Journal of ePractice.
