Developing Technologies for Real-time Social Change

Over the last year, Amnesty International began implementing a strategy to 'move closer to the ground', meaning that we move our people closer to those we work for and with: individuals residing in parts of the world where universal human rights are challenged or under threat. Initially, this will result in physically relocating staff currently based in London to regional offices, primarily in what we call the Global South and East. However, at a more fundamental level, it will precipitate changes in the way that we work as a global civil society organisation.Amnesty's efforts to move closer to the ground has a clear and direct impact on our approach to uses of technology and the way in which digital is positioned within the organisation. Instead of using digital technologies solely as a mechanism to drive internal machinery and amplify existing outputs of the organisation - e.g. campaigning, communicating, fundraising - we have begun the process of disrupting ourselves by putting technologies for real-time social change into the hands of those who need it most. Whilst this does not replace, but instead augments, existing models of technological deployment within Amnesty, it is disruptive in that it shifts the organisation's focus from that of observer to intervener.

Your Next Consumer: The Convergence Of Social And Mobile

SoLoMo (social, location, mobile) is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. Mobile technology is making it possible — and desirable — to enhance customer relationships through location-relevant and socially enabled engagement. But are we missing the point? Younger audiences are so fully immersed in connected devices that they no longer think of social, location, and mobile as discrete ways to interact with people and brands. Rather, SoLoMo is a ubiquitous part of how they live their lives. This session will explore:The speed at which the new generation of consumers is gravitating toward immersive and ubiquitous social/mobile computing. What the consumer life cycle will look like for this consumer. What marketers must do now to prepare to meet the needs of their next consumer

e-Marketing & e-Commerce found dead side by side. “e” is the main suspect!

e-commerce, m-commerce, f-commerce, and so on. Modern Consumers today have access to more touch-points than ever before. Welcome to the new world of commerce & marketing where “e” is obsolete. It's now commerce anytime, anyplace and on any device. Transforming Marketing through the Digital Self

The web is quickly leaving the desktop and becoming seamlessly mobile, conveniently local, and incredibly personal. Old playbooks and channels are quickly becoming obsolete as the web gets smarter and more sophisticated. The signals consumers send out – from what we like to what we share and buy – are key to understanding the Digital Self. By bringing these signals together, marketers need to create meaningful and personalized experiences to every customer, at every interaction, in every channel. Join Aseem Chandra, VP of Product & Industry Marketing of Adobe’s Digital Marketing Business, as he unpacks the digital self, the impact on brands, and how to separate the hype from the actual trends that drive business impact."
