Marie Githinji is the co-founder and CTO of eLimu, one of the most talked about EdTech innovations in Africa. eLimu is an interactive educational platform with rich digital localized content for the Kenyan Primary School curriculum. The application vamps up educational content with locally produced and culturally relevant videos, animations, songs, music, games and quizzes to improve learning and assessment outcomes. eLimu has been deployed on low cost tablets to students all over Kenya with phenomenal results and has been featured on CNN, Al-Jazeera, BBC and The Economist to name a few. Marie is also the Program Manager of InfoNET, a technological innovation facility that uses technology to empower citizens and civil societies in fostering service delivery and democratic governance. Marie also co-founded Akirachix, an organisation that aims to inspire and develop a successful force of women in technology who will change Africa's future. With a background in Business Information Technology herself, she is passionate about IT and seeks to inspire leadership among women in the traditionally male dominated field of technology. In her spare time she enjoys listening to and discovering new music.
